Paris did not ask for it
So didn’t Beirut or Baghdad
If it was hard for the latter two
For Paris too, it was hard
A thousand voices and words yell
No one was there for Beirut or Baghdad
Why didn’t anyone stand for them?
Why wasn’t anyone at guard?
To them I ask, aren’t you one of us?
Why were you not there for them?
Why didn’t you stand up first?
Why didn’t you say a prayer, in the bloody mayhem?
Now when its time to lend a hand
You point fingers at the faces around
Now when its time to give strength
You made it your cursing ground
Paris opened hearts and doors
To every wound that was borne
And that is why we stand with them
When its burning and its torn
